Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about MobilityManager
How does per-vehicle pricing work?
MobilityManager is licensed as a one-time perpetual purchase with a base platform fee plus a per-vehicle cost. You pay once for the exact number of vehicles you manage — no arbitrary tier caps. For example, 25 vehicles on Essentials costs €842 base + 25 × €127 = €4,017 one-time. Volume discounts apply automatically: 10 % for 26–50 vehicles, 15 % for 51–100 vehicles, and 20 % for 101+ vehicles.
What does 'perpetual license' mean exactly?
A perpetual license gives you the right to use the version of MobilityManager you purchased indefinitely. You receive the full application binaries, install them on your infrastructure, and they keep running with no expiry date, no internet check-in, and no forced upgrades. Optional annual maintenance contracts give you access to updates and priority support.
What are the volume discounts?
Volume discounts are applied to the per-vehicle rate: 10% off for 26-50 vehicles, 15% off for 51-100 vehicles, and 20% off for 101-200 vehicles. For fleets over 200 vehicles, contact us for a custom quote. The base platform fee is not discounted.
Can I add more vehicles later?
Yes. You can expand your license at any time by purchasing additional vehicle slots at the current per-vehicle rate for your tier. Volume discount thresholds are based on your total licensed vehicle count after the expansion.
Where can I deploy MobilityManager?
Anywhere that runs .NET 10 and either SQL Server or PostgreSQL. This includes your own data center, a dedicated server, VMware / Hyper-V / Proxmox VMs, Docker and Kubernetes, and any cloud provider (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Hetzner, etc.). Your data stays exactly where you put it — MobilityManager has no phone-home features or cloud dependencies.
Is there a SaaS or hosted version?
No. MobilityManager is a software product you deploy and operate yourself. This is intentional: many organizations require that fleet and mobility data stays within their own infrastructure for compliance, security, or operational reasons.
What databases are supported?
Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL. Both engines use the same EF Core migration set and deliver identical functionality. You can use whichever database is already in your infrastructure or choose PostgreSQL for a zero-license-cost database option.
What is multi-tenant and why would I need it?
Multi-tenant lets you run multiple fully isolated organizations from a single MobilityManager installation. Each tenant gets its own database with complete data separation. This is ideal for corporate groups, holding structures, or managed service providers. Essentials includes 1 tenant, Professional up to 5, and Enterprise has no limit.
How does the licensing work technically?
MobilityManager uses RSA-signed JWT license files. Your license encodes your edition (Essentials / Professional / Enterprise), vehicle limit, tenant count, enabled feature flags, and validity period. The license is validated locally on startup and during relevant operations. There is no internet check-in — the validation is entirely offline.
Are users and drivers included in the license price?
Yes. All license tiers include unlimited users and drivers. There is no per-seat pricing. Your license fee is based on fleet size (vehicle count) and the feature tier you choose.
What modules are included in Professional?
The Professional license includes all core fleet operations: self-service bookings, approval workflows, auto-assignment, pool management, traffic fine management, damage management, expense and receipt management, CRM and partner management, email template customization, utilization dashboard, GDPR pseudonymization, data retention rules, and REST API access.
How does MobilityManager compare to SaaS fleet software?
Most SaaS fleet management tools charge €10-25 per vehicle per month, which adds up quickly. With MobilityManager, you pay once and own the software perpetually. A 50-vehicle Professional license costs around €11,000 one-time — compared to €10,800-27,000 per year with typical SaaS competitors. MobilityManager typically pays for itself within 1-2 years.
Is MobilityManager GDPR compliant?
Yes. GDPR compliance is built in at the architecture level. Every data change produces an immutable audit record. GDPR deletion requests are handled via pseudonymization. Data retention periods are configurable per tenant with automatic cleanup. Since your data never leaves your infrastructure, you retain full control.
What is the driver license compliance module?
German employers must verify driver licenses at least every 6 months under §21 StVG. The driver license compliance module automates this: dashboard with traffic-light status per driver, manual check logging, smartphone photo upload workflow, automatic reminder emails, and audit-proof PDF export. Available for Enterprise customers.
Can I procure MobilityManager without a formal tender process?
Yes — in most cases. Our Essentials license starts at around €1,477 net one-time (€842 platform fee + 5 × €127 per vehicle). Under the UVgO (German sub-threshold procurement regulation), direct-award thresholds and simplified procedures apply for amounts below €25,000 net. Many German federal states allow direct procurement below this threshold without a formal bidding process. We provide all required procurement documentation on request. Get in touch.
